Two Weeks Old!

Derek James had a very big day on Tuesday. He turned two weeks old and went to see his pediatrician, Dr. Mathieu. He had already been to see him last week because he lost so much weight in the hospital. Derek really likes his doctor and so does Mommy.



What we didn't realize was that they were going to do a heel prick again for some routine screenings. Thank goodness Nana went with us so Mommy didn't have to watch, I just sat on the chair and teared up and held my breath as Derek screamed. That part wasn't fun but overall we had a wonderful visit and here are his latest stats!



He weighed in at 7 pds 3oz.
Last Tuesday he was 6 pds 8oz.
So he has been busy eating this past week!



The nurse measured Derek and he is now 21 3/4 inches long. So he has grown almost two inches in two short weeks. It's amazing how fast babies grow. I don't want it to happen so quickly but we are so blessed that he is healthy and doing so well. I think the thing that surprises me most so far about being a Mommy is how fast the days and nights are just flying by. My good friend Heather told me to buckle up because we were in for the best ride of our lives, but it would move in fast forward and boy was she right!
